Game Glossary

AGING: an in-game feature wherein Tree NFTs unlock different features based on how long they have existed inside the game. This is based on real-word time.

AUCTION: Players can set the price for their NFTs to increase or decrease over time. Once a stipulated price is met, the NFT will remain on the market at the set price. Players can cancel this sale at any given time.

ANCIENT: Refers to a specific life cycle stage of a tree in the game. For a tree to become an Ancient, it needs to be alive for 120 days.

ASSETS: Refers to a player’s NFTs in the blockchain.

BLOCKCHAIN: Refers to a digital ledger that records and stores transactional information in such a way that it’s not possible to hack or make alterations.

BURNING: Refers to the process through which a token is erased completely from the system. This is done in different ways but the end result is always the same.

BREEDING: A process wherein two (2) trees are combined through $MTREE tokens to produce a seed.

BID: A term used in the marketplace when a player offers a price for an item that’s listed or being sold.

BAMBOO: One of the eight (8) tree species in the game.

BANANA: One of the eight (8) tree species in the game.

BANYAN: One of the eight (8) tree species in the game.

CARBON NFT: An in-game token used to feed trees to keep them growing and healthy.

CRYPTOCURRENCY/CRYPTO: Refers to an encrypted string of data denoting a currency that’s monitored by the blockchain.

COMBINING: An in-game feature to create a tree token by combining a Land NFT with a Seed NFT.

COOLDOWN: A resting period to help a tree recover from excessive harvesting. This is also applied when un-staking.

COCONUT: One of the eight (8) tree species in the game.

CASH-OUT: The act of converting $MTREE tokens to fiat currency (real world money).

CLAY: A type of soil found in some lands that allows banana and coconut trees to grow.

CHALK: A type of soil found in some lands that allows the frangipani tree to grow.

DRAGON FRUIT: One of the eight (8) tree species in the game.

DAY: A period of time equivalent to 24 hours.

$EKTA: The main currency used in the marketplace.

ELDERWOOD: Refers to a specific life cycle stage of a tree in the game. For a tree to become an Elderwood, it needs to be alive for a minimum of 360 days.

ENT: Refers to a specific life cycle stage of a tree in the game For a tree to become an Ent, it needs to be alive for a minimum of720 days.

FRANGIPANI: One of the eight (8) tree species in the game.

FOOTING: A unit of measurement that refers to the size of the land a tree needs (measured in square feet).

FEEDING: Refers to the act of burning a Carbon NFT to increase the health of a Tree NFT.

FERTILIZER: A feature used to unlock genetic traits hidden inside each tree. Adding the Fertilizer NFT to the tree will result in cell mutations that change the color, pattern and shape of the leaves.

GENESIS PACK: A pre-sale offering for early investors where they can purchase NFT packages that include various NFT tokens.

GALLONS: A unit of measurement for Water NFT

GROWING: Refers to the process of aging a tree to unlock new features and generate $MTREE tokens for harvesting.

GAS: A fee that is paid for transactions in the marketplace and inside the game.

GENESIS: Refers to the formation of the EktaVerse and the origin story of the Genesis tree in the MetaTrees game.

GAMEPLAY: Refers to the tactical aspects of a video game, such as its mechanics and the way it is played.

HYBRID: A form of tree in the game that is both unique and stronger than normal trees.

HARVEST: Refers to the process of collecting $MTREE tokens from trees.

HEALING: A time delay cooldown where the land is required to rest before it can become fertile again.

HEALTH: A unit of measurement that indicates whether a tree has received enough water and carbon for the day.

INVEST: The act of purchasing and holding an NFT. JACKFRUIT: One of the eight (8) tree species in the game.

LAND NFT: Refers to an NFT that is used for planting seeds and trees. More features will be added in future updates to enhance and make use of the many attributes and qualities of Land NFTs.

LEASE: An in-game feature where a landowner leases out a plot of land to another player, allowing the renter to grow their own tree.

LIFE CYCLE: Refers to the seven (7) stages of life a tree goes through.

LOAM: A type of soil found in some lands that allows Mango trees and Bamboo to grow.

MARKETPLACE: The location where players go to buy, sell and trade their NFT tokens.

$MTREE TOKEN: the official in-game currency which is used in a variety of features such as breeding and variegation.

MINTING: The process of producing $MTREE tokens by caring for trees.

MANGO: One of the eight (8) genesis tree species in the game

MATURE: Refers to a specific life cycle stage of a tree. For a tree to become mature, it needs to be alive for a minimum of six (6) days.

MAINTENANCE: Refers to the process of taking the game server down in order to implement bug fixes or updates.

Non-fungible token (NFT): Refers to a unique digital asset with proof of ownership and verification of authenticity. Each NFT is unique and one-of-a-kind and cannot be replaced or swapped for another NFT.

NATURAL NFT: Refers to specific in-game NFTs namely Water NFTs and Carbon NFTs.

NORMAL: One of three In-game tree health statuses: Strong, Normal and Weak.

PRESALE: A sales event taking place before the launch of a product, presented in a variety of forms such as auctions, bidding, private sales and more.

PHASE: A point in time in the game’s life cycle determining the release date of various features.

PLANTING: When a Land NFT is combined with a Plant NFT to start the growing process of a Tree NFT.

PLOT: A square foot measurement of land where a Tree NFT grows.

PATCH: A set of changes to the game designed to update security features, update content, fix bugs, or improve performance and other features.

PEAT: A type of soil found in some lands that allows Bamboo and Dragon Fruit trees to grow.

RNG: If everything is predictable in a game, that isn’t much fun. RNGs, or Random Number Generators, are a way to introduce randomness and causality.

REGION: An area of division in the world map having definable characteristics but not always fixed boundaries.

SEED NFT: Refers to an NFT used inside the game to grow trees or staked to generate Carbon NFT.

SQUARE FOOT: A unit of measurement that refers to the size of the land a tree needs in order to grow.

STAKING: Refers to the act of locking up NFTs for a set period of time in order to earn passive income and rewards.

SOIL: Refers to a Land NFT attribute that determines which tree species can be grown on a specific piece of land.

SEEDING: A in-game automated process wherein a tree spontaneously creates a Seed NFT without the need for breeding.

STRONG: One of three in-game tree health statuses: Strong, Normal and Weak.

SPROUT: A life cycle stage of a tree. Being a sprout means that the tree has been in the game for a minimum one (1) day.

SELL: The act of placing NFT assets in the marketplace to find a buyer.

SAND: A type of soil found in some lands that allows Coconut, Mango and Jackfruit trees to grow.

TRANSACTION FEE: A charge that a player has to pay every time the marketplace processes their payment transaction.

TREE NFT: Refers to an NFT that is used inside the game to generate $MTREE tokens and engage other fun gameplay features.

TRADING: A process wherein players exchange NFTs with other players.

UPGRADE: An in-game feature used to improve or enhance the appearance of a Tree NFT by using a Fertilizer NFT.

VARIEGATION: an in-game feature that changes a tree’s appearance by applying a Fertilizer NFT.

VERSION: Composed of three numbers: the major build number, the minor build problem, and the revision. This is a guide used by both developers and players alike.

WATER NFT: Refers to an NFT that is used to grow Tree NFTs and Seed NFTs. Watering a Tree NFT or Seed NFT increases its health.

WHITELIST: Refers to a security feature that strictly permits crypto withdrawals to only go to pre-approved addresses.

WHITEPAPER: Refers to an in-depth document explaining that identifies a problem and presents a solution. Whitepapers are also used to present detailed information about a specific project to inform and educate their audience.

WEAK: One of three in-game tree health statuses: Strong, Normal and Weak.
